I am currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Business Administration degree program at the Northern Institute of Technology. I received my Marketing Diploma in 2012 as I was passionate about a career where I would be able to use my creative skill set and business mind frame. I worked in a few administrative roles helping with day to day operations and then decided to move to Vancouver, BC as the opportunity was staring me in the face and I could not pass that up. I ended up working for an accounting firm in the heart of downtown which was spectacular in its self as I would look one way and see mountains and look the other way to see the ocean. I gained a lot of experience both work and personal; the time spent away from Edmonton allowed me to learn more about myself and what I truly wanted to do. When I moved back to Edmonton, I decided to enroll in the BBA accounting degree program which I would have never thought I would pursue in a million years, but I found my true passion. Four years later, and countless breakdowns and sleepless nights later, I am completing my last semester. The journey has not been easy, especially while working full time, but I have learned so much, and I am proud of myself for achieving my goals. Accounting was never on my radar, but during those first-year general courses I found that I enjoyed that side of business but put it on the back burner because I was enrolled in Marketing, I realize now that both aspects are essential and I feel I have a good mix of education for the next chapter of my life.
